Lewis to be in Utah for a whole 5 days!!

Yes this is an emergency broadcast.....even it is good news! He hasn't been here for that length of time since we moved in. Yippee how wonderful to have our Dad and hubby home. We plan on hitting more art galleries and doing alot of relaxing. We also might do some more exploring. Lewis and I tend to drive around on Sundays to "see" things. Last Sunday we went up to Pine Valley. Quaint little town nestled in an incredibly beautiful valley.

I will also be hiking and taking my first kayaking trip out. I'll let you know how it goes.

a bushel?

What is a bushel? Is it weight or volume? And do you know how many bottles of peaches you get if you bottle a bushel?

Jokes....

OK. This joke has to do with politics so take no offence to it. In an airplane there is Bill Clinton and George Bush. The are having a contest to try to make the most people in Israel happy. So, Bill Clinton throws $1 out the window and makes one person happy. Then George Bush throws out $20 and makes 20 people happy. The Bill Clinton throws out $1000 out the window and makes 1000 people happy. Then George Bush pushes Bill Clinton out the window and makes everybody happy.

Next. John Kerry is in an airplane with, 2 soldiers, a general, and the pilot. Well, they were flying over Iraq and the pilot says,"Oh no! One of our engines have been shot! Someone needs to jump!" So, one of the soldiers jumps out with a parachute. Then a few hours later the pilot says,"Jeez! another one of our engines have been shot!" So, the second soldier jumps out with the last parachute. One hour later the pilot says,"We have only one engine left! Someone needs to jump without a parachute!" The general then says,"I will do this in honor of my country!" Then shoves John Kerry out of the plane.

Ordination and Mutual

So, I got ordained on Sunday and I am starting mutual which is very fun. I'm just super nervous that i will be asked on the spot to play the hymns.... That is my only worry. I think?

James most recent email

Sorry for not posting these in a while. Shelley gently reprimanded me today and explained that they use them in their family home evenings. So, here it is for this week.

Hello! Last week was awesome. Why? Let me share. Since going district leader, our district has never met or exceeded our district goal for a certain week. Last week, we went big and set 160 other lessons and find 26 new investigators. The district went out with faith and diligence and we taught 190 lessons and were led to 27 new investigators. That is the power of two elder companionships, one sister companionship, and the Holy Ghost! This week, we want 20 at church, and 12 in the baptismal pool. We want to take all of our key indicators and improve. Elder Tingey has lit up the mission. I am on fire too. Meaning I feel the need and I love the work! The Lord has been preparing the area for new missionaries. (This does not mean I will move. If you look at it, my area has the need of 4 elders. They would not move me, and put in 4 new ones. That would leave the area bad. I will likely have a new comp and they will white wash my lower area.) In the new missionaries area, they will take our baptismal pool. Which is awesome. How cool is that, white wash and have 2 in week b and one in week c! With MORE TO COME! The time is far spent! Lift the call to arms, the work is at hand! WHOO HOO! Brother chen was baptized on saturday. He is a man of God. He loves the scriptures and shared a wonderful scripture about trust in God. He thanked us alot. He has been touched by the Spirit of the Lord. I had an interview with President Nielson on monday. I love that man! Our friendship is one I will cherish for the eternities. Two men in the service of God. We talked about visions of our areas and of people God needs within the Church. We talked about the district and goal making. It was awesome. Not to mention my longest one. 40 min of fun and learning. Yesterday, we went to paint a members ceiling! (lots of fun) The part I want to share was, we asked my old companion Brother Zhang to help. Since his family wants him busy, not on the computer, plus only she would be home. It is against the rules for us to be there without another male. So, we met him at a street, but he had not brought his bike. So, I let him ride mine, and I ran! IT WAS SOOO MUCH FUN! I have not ran so hard or long in my mission life! Yep, thank you for enjoying this experience with me. Well, I love you all, be strong! Love Elder Wei

Overwrought

Hi,

We have been overwrought with cares and cars....therefore, we aren't going to be able to go to the meet and greet with Jen and Layne this weekend. We shall keep ourselves safely stashed in St. George. We do love both of them to death, though, and will let nothing over-set the Jan 5th play-date.

It's Harvest Time

Tracy's peaches got me out of my chair to show off my tomatoes!. They shine like 20 carrat rubies on their green vines.

We are eating zucchini, yellow squash, carrots and our acorn squash (is the plural squash or squashes?) and eggplant are almost ready. We only have one giant pumpkin due to fat, evil squirrels (that are for sale by the way). I love harvest time, but I hate that summer is almost over.
love to you all,
Martissa

Peaches!!

I ran a half marathon saturday in Park City. It was incredibly beautiful there. I had never been there before and wished I had more time to just drive around and explore. My ankle was already not in the best of shape and the uneven gravel trails weren't the best surface to be running on. I rolled it again several times. OUCH! I finished and considering the altitude and the ankle was actually pretty pleased with my time.

On the way home we stopped in Orem at a roadside produce stand. I bought two bushels of peaches and a watermelon. After returning home from work and seeing Lewis off on his return trip, I started in on them. I got one bushel done and will do the other one tomorrow as I am off from work. Most of them I am blanching to take the skins off then slicing them and putting them in freezer bags to eat later. About 1/3 of the last box will be turned into freezer jam. Yum.

The Details

Hi,  It's Jen.  I heard some of you  wanted to hear my side of the story.

It was perfect.  I was stressed out because I REALLY wanted to go to the temple but I REALLY wanted us to pick up the ring.  But Layne figured it all out.  We were going to go to the temple and then go get the ring.  It seemed like it might work and he was so confident that I was able to relax.  Everything was going to be okay.  Then he kept talking about our plans for the weekend.  (We had planned on Layne proposing on Saturday.)  He asked if I had figured out how I would answer when he proposed and I said I knew the general idea but not the specifics. So we went to the temple and I told Layne that there were paths behind the temple and I wondered if he had seen them.  He asked me to show them to him.  So as we walked along the paths in the woods behind the temple he just stopped and got down on his knee and asked "Jennifer will you marry me" I said "I will" and now we are engaged.  It was perfect.

I save Southwest from abject failure

At 6pm Friday night, I checked the status of flight #2820 and guess what? With 3 1/2 hours till the flight was to leave, they already were 1/2 hour late. That, combined with the fact that it was a late flight and I was ready to go by 6pm combined to force my hand and I drove this weekend. I arrived 30 minutes before I would have with the plane, and that included a generous stop at State Line. In a perfect world, I spend about 4 1/2 hours total with the drive/fly if everything is perfect, so I no longer have patience for anything that's not.

Is this the BIG weekend for Layne and Jen?

I forget....is this the official "engagement" weekend? Wishes for a wonderful, romantic and memorable time.

12 Mile Bike Hike

Yep, tonight I get introduced to a sore bottom. I used to ride my bike to work to and from years ago and Lewis and I and some old single friends used to ride from Irvine down to Balboa on our bikes. But this will be the longest bike ride I have been on in easily over 20+ years. YIKES.

I am exited and found out what I should wear and bring. I am using my own bike, which could be a bad thing or a good thing, not sure which yet. I have a huge bottle of gatorade to put in my bottle rack and will bring some extra in my bag (I have a bag that attaches and sits on the back fender). I'll let you know how it went.....perhaps I'll have to type "standing up". LOL.

Happy Birthday

We want to say Happy Birthday to all those family members who are having birthdays! Happy birthday Brad, Dad and Derrick (and if there is some birthday no one told me a about happy birthday to you too). Hope ya'll have some fun plans!

The Pool is NO more

So here are the before, during, and after shots of our pool demo. It was really stressful while it was happening. They had a couple of trucks in the street and a huge pile of dirt and so everybody who lived past us in the culdesac (sp?) couldn't get past our house and had to park in front of someone else's house. Because of this we made cookies for all the neighbors and dropped them off to say sorry. This is the second time we have disrupted the neighborhood. Hopefully the cookies smooth things over so no one hates us! Our side yard is completely trashed. We don't know if the grass will ever come back from being smash with the tractor so much. Also all of our planter boxes are pretty much ruined so we don't know if we'll take out all the plants and just put grass in or if we'll replant and try to get the planter boxes back. Who knows, but for now our backyard is very unusable.

Good news!

Nothing broken, just tendonitis. If it keeps swelling....continue what I have been doing but I can RUN! If it starts to hurt, I have to go see a podiatrist for orthotics. Not too bad after all.

Past Weekend II

Kyla, one of Jen's sister in laws, took a bunch of engagement photo's for us along the river and around the cabin this past weekend.  She is going to send us a CD with them on it so that we can decide if we want to use any of them on our announcements.

Past Weekend

Hello,

Jen and I went to Talcott West Virginia this past weekend to spend it with some of her family.  Her sister and brother in law and their 4 kids as well as her brother and sister in law from Ohio and there two kids all met a a house along the New River Gorge and they invited us down for the Friday thru Sunday.  We played in the River and went tubbing for a little while then we went hiking and had a campfire and made smores.
On the way back on Sunday we stopped off in Harrisonburg VA and went to Sacrament Meeting and as soon as the meeting was over we got jumped by several people welcoming us to the ward. One lady in particular seemed quite sad or rejected that we were just passing through and weren't moving in.  I imagine that they are starving for new/more members in that area.
Today, the jewelry store called and told Jen that her ring was finished and she could come and pick it up.  Unfortunately, the lady that helped us several times is off today and tomorrow and she asked, when we bought it,  if we would wait until wednesday to pick it up so she could be there when Jen tired it on for reals.  After we left the store last week Jen decided that she did want to wait until Bonny was there in the store so we are going to wait until wednesday to pick it up.  Besides, Jen doesn't actually get the ring until Friday or Saturday when I propose, so when we pick it up is really irrelevant.  Unless they sized it wrong and it will have to be done over again.
So that is how things stand at the moment.  I love you all.

Thanks Mom!

I appreciate Mom coming and helping me after my surgery. Having my tonsils out has not been quite as bad as the stories I heard, but it has been pretty awful. Thank you all for your prayers. I am on day 3 of recovery and hopefully through the worst part. My kids are enjoying the Popsicles and ice cream and pudding at non dessert times of day! Thanks for all your sympathy comments to mom's tonsilectomy post.

I want an invitation!

Hey, Stefanie. I have some more flower pictures and I want to post them to your flower blog. Can I please have an invitation?

My ankle

I think Shelley is the only one who knows I tore my hamstring about 10 days ago. That is actually doing much better. But the saga continues.

Yesterday afternoon, I decided to look at my ankle? Why, you ask? Well, for over a week or so, I have felt that it was loose so to speak, I felt that it was going to "roll". It has just felt wierd. But I wasn't having ANY pain to speak of just this wierd feeling. Well, yesterday it started to ache and so I decided to finally look at the doggone thing. Hmmmm I think it might be swollen. I go and show it to the kids, "hey look at this side, then look at this side....what do you think?" Umm they think its swollen too. At this time though you can still see my ankle bone, its just swollen enough that you can see a difference but not enough to "worry". At 6:30 I get in the car to go get Lewis from the airport and my ankle starts to "hurt" while driving. I finally stop at Moapa to get water to take some pills it hurts that much. Lo and behold....its swelling even more. Well that explains the increased discomfort. Til we got home last night, you couldn't see my ankle bone anymore. I am sure the discomfort is a result of the swelling but I cannot figure out what the swelling is from. Julieann (a running friend of mine) thinks its due to standing on my feet at WalMart and NOT wearing good shoes. (I've been wearing a cheap $5 pair of white sneakers). She said she thinks its the "tendons". Anyway, this morning it has gone down some but not all the way. I took an Aleve and taped it up for support and am working in my running shoes today. I have a full schedule today 9-5 so it will be interesting to see how it does.

I am frustrated with all of these physical set backs. If its not one thing its another. I am going on 49 and all of a sudden I feel every year. Sigh!!

SWA: Week 6

I had such high hopes for these guys. They were on a 3 flight winning streak and I had imagined they might get to .500 today, but alas, for reasons out of their control (of course), they were a half hour late, so now it's 5/11. They're doing worse than the Dodgers.

The A/C was out at the Ontario airport. Nothing I like better than standing around feeling sweaty with other sweaty people. Miraculously, there were no young children. Yay! (They would have suffocated.)

Tomorrow I'm going with Caitlin to her X-Country meet at Hurricane High School.

Rebecca's Tonsilectomy

I was going to try to be clever and post before and after pictures, here in SLO, but Rebecca is much too miserable to be silly. She had her tonsils out this morning. She is in a lot of pain and is not allowed to eat anything, except popsicles, sherbet, smoothies right now. In a day or two she can add pasta, plain, scrambled eggs, and mashed potatoes, the instant kind, and that is it for two weeks. She isn't supposed to lift anything heavier than 5 pounds lol, ask any mom if that will work. I have to leave on Sunday, so hopefully she will be feeling a whole lot better. She is a trooper, but it hurts.

Congratulations L&J

Congratulations Layne and Jen on finding the perfect ring! I'm so glad your unofficial, unannounced engagement is almost at an end and I LOVE Lewis' idea of a webcam proposal!!! Bring it on.

I loved having lots of people here before the reunion and I look forward to welcoming Lewis and Tracy and Layne and Jen and Rebec with families whenever you guys can make it.

We are planning on the contractor coming to drywall and install the new windows in our little basement office!! That is great for Mike and AWESOME for me as it leads the way to so many other little projects I'm hoping to sneak in next year.

I thought the reunion was awesome, maybe the best one yet except we missed the brothers and families. I love eating dinner together and shopping together and swimming together. I love the aunties loving Grace. She needs the love!!

We are still enjoying our summer. We start school next Wednesday. Our new backpacks are packed with tissues and notebooks and we are ready to go when it's time.

Mike is out of the house for the night so..........When the cat is away..... We are doing Panda Express tonight and a slumber party and maybe tv all night.

Love to you all.
Martissa

Playing Dress up

Paisley played dress up today. It was very cute! She isn't quite sure of the feathers on the boa, but she likes to have it on anyway. Although I now have feathers covering the basement floor!

Terrific News!!

I met with Beth at Red Mtn this past Thursday when I went for my first hike. We went over my current WalMart schedule and basically I can't schedule anything at Red Mtn due to my current hours at WalMart. They move the times for hikes up to later in the day in September and I already start WalMart at 9am. This would make it impossible to get back in time for work. So, after consulting with my wonderful husband about options, we decided to ask WalMart to move my hours from noon to 5pm every day including Saturdays. They agreed!! That means that during the busy season at Red Mtn, I technically could hike 5 days a week and still work at WalMart.

I am thrilled!!

Blog

Should we get a casket ready for the blog??? It appears to be dead.  I was expecting a lot of posting and chatting to take place one people got back from the reunion but I was sorely mistaken.  Oh well, I guess peoples lives have to go on at some point.  So Jen found the PERFECT ring the other day and after going back several times just to make sure it was the one we bought it and we get it next Tuesday or Wednesday, YEAH!!!!  Now I can finally propose. ;)  It will be very nice to be officially engaged!  We will send out a picture of her and her ring once we get it on her finger.

How's New York?

I was wondering how Stephen's New York trip is going? Did he get to see the Letterman show? What Broadway shows has he seen? I hope he got to see Wicked! That's a good show!!

First day of School

Yes, can't you see Jonathan's enthusiasm? LOL. He actually is looking forward to school it was the picture that about did him in. I was going to head up to Red Mtn this morning but the bairns asked me to stay home and drive them their first day. I had to say YES.

Back into Shcool

We are back in school now. Brad is in 6 and I am in 5.( just telling you if you didn't know). Brad has Mrs. Harman, and I have Mr. Lopez. We are so happy to be in school now.

Brad has six different classes, they are: Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, and Spanish. I forgot the other class. There is now new boy teacher (Mr Lambert). I am not joking. Mr. Lopez used to be the only boy teacher at our school.

Southwest update

I am going to quickly run out of things to complain about if things with SWA keep heading in the right direction. For 3 flights in a row now, they have been on time. That makes them 5 for 10. That's a better away record than most baseball teams, but not enough to get in the playoffs. Hopefully things will continue to get better.

I'm working on one new story and receive inspiration on a second. When it rains ideas, it pours.

On Saturday, we went thru Snow Canyon at 10mph looking at everything. We drove to the top and back down again. We then drove to Tuacahn to see what that's all about. Donny Osmond performs there on the 20th and Tracy and Caitlin are going to go scream and wave their cellphones.

In the afternoon, we saw some returning travelers from CO. They were tired and maybe a little hot, but determined to press on, which they did.

Good night again.

Lewis

Catching Fish Story

The lake next to the cabins was filled with tiny fish. I went with my dad and tried to catch. I was so good, that I caught 14 fish! Ireally wanted to bring them home, but I decided to dump them back in to th3e lake. But before that, One fish died because as soon as I got out of the bathroom, a fish flipped out of the cup. I dumped them out when we got up early to go and feed the ducks. That was fun too, but another story.

Some Moments from the Family Reunion

Here are a few highlights from the family reunion that were captured on our camera. There were many more, but others will need to post what they have. Here are 4 of the little girls playing together at Marti's house.

We spent one of the days in Breckenridge and one of the activities was panning for gems, it was a lot of fun, but we gave our treasures to Taryn.

Jason went on the bungy swing in Breckenridge. He managed to pull off 2 flips in one bounce. He said it was really hard to do and he got quite the workout from it.
We took some pictures in matching shirts, each family a different color. Here is Grandma and Grandpa with all the Grandkids.

Later in the week we spent a day at Glenwood Caverns. This is Jason, Paisley and me in the cave.

They had a photographer take your picture in the cave and we liked out so we took a picture of the picture. They were $15 so we weren't going to buy it.

Also at Glenwood Caverns they had an alpine slide roller coaster, it was on a track. We went on it 3 times. It was a lot of fun!

On Thursday night we went ice skating at Beaver Creek. The kids all played with each other while others skated.

Paisley, Nathan and Jolie had a fun time sharing crackers and watching everyone else skate!

We had a great time ice skating together, it was a lot of fun. We had a great family reunion and can't wait for everyone to be together again at Layne's Wedding!

President Faust passed away in his sleep this morning!

Heard this first thing this morning. There was a buzz at work. Some people even cried. So very wierd to see the impact in an LDS community. Also an opportunity to talk with the kids about how a new apostle is called and succession in the church.

Too Much Fun!!

Alright you vacationing family members, Jan told me that there were two...TWO computers there. I thought for sure that someone would post something while you were all away. But I guess we are out of sight and out of mind. Shucks. We were hoping to participate vicariously through pictures and posts. Guess not. Well I will just have to wait until you return. Grudgingly. ;)

Southwest score card

Well, SWA is now 3 for 8. They were an hour late yesterday, and they knew about it since the morning and still did nothing to fix it. While I was waiting at the airport, a TV news station was informing me that only about 30% of flights would be on time. I hope nobody spent too much on advertising to get that broadcasted. There is a possibility that I'll be doing more driving and less flying on Friday nights. Our next door neighbor in St. G. has a job in San Bernardino, and we might drive together. I'm finding that driving can be faster than flying. In all 5 of the late flight situations, I could have driven more expeditiously than flown.

I hope everything is just excellent and lots of fun in Avon. Don't get too wet on the river. :)

Nice to see Cousins

I finally get to see all most every cousin on my mom's side of the family! I love seeing cousins. I hope everyone has a fun time no matter what they do. So far, the Cornwall are here, my family is here, and of course, the Spencer family.

Our Nice Trip

I am having so much fun on this trip so far. I just love it. I like playing with cousins too. I can't wait until tomorrow. Our fist day of the family reunion! I wish everyone in the family could come this time. I can't wait to see everyone.

Funnies =)

There was a man that was dieing from thirst. He had been traveling for 2 days in the hot, hot desert. In the middle of the third day he sees a glass of water sitting on the ground. he starts crawling toward it and starts moaning,"Water...Water." Then when he finally reaches the cup he pulls out a comb from his back pocket and dips the comb in and start to brush his hair.

Very cool Website

I just found out about this very cool website. It is found at Restaurant.com (you can click on that link and be taken right there) When you get to this website you just type in your zip code and it will come up with a lists of restaurants offering gift card deals. For example you can buy a $25 gift card for $10, or a $10 gift card for $3. It is very cool. I imagine in a more populated state that there would be more deals, because there was practically nothing for Kansas, but try it out and let me know if there are some good deals where you live!

A Few Laughs

1:) What do you call a cat that just got out af the dryer?

2:) What do you call a boy on stage?

3:) What do you call a boy that's floating in a pool?

4:) What do you call a boy laying on the floor?

Home in Escrow!!

Hi, At long last the rental house sales agreement is in escrow!! It sold the last day of July which Janet has held for months that it would!! A great woman of incredible faith!! The docs say this is a 1031 exchange which means we have to purchase another investment property like it within the next 180 days. The IRS says that if we identify a property within 45 day of closing and purchase it within 180 days of closing there will be no tax on the exchange. Our hope is to find a "like kind" investment house in St George, Utah, rent it while we finish our LA Temple assignment and than possibly move into it! The Lord blessed us so much in holding this house the last year with no renter, fixing it for sale, and bring a buyer ready, willing, and able to buy it. This will take a big load off of us to have this exchange completed. We are going to look at a couple of townhouses in St George this Saturday with Rebecca after visiting Lewis' new house. We will be on our way to the family reunion which we have looked forward to for a long time. We are so much looking forward to seeing all of you and enjoying your company over the next week. May the Lord bless all of you as you travel that we may meet and all will be well. DAD

Have a Happy Family Reunion!!!

Please take lots of pictures and blog often so those of us who aren't able to join you can vicariously share in the fun! Drive safely too.

It's almost the weekend

I just took my last set of evening pills, which means the next time I go to sleep, I'll be in Utah..Hurray! I was buying gas tonight and some guy drove up and asked me how far Utah was. I said 5 1/2 hours. He said thanks, and then drove off.

We get to see Mom/Dad and Rebecca and the kids Saturday for a brief visit on their way to Colorado. It will be very nice to see them. Drive safely!!

Rebecca's email

Hi Rebecca,

I sent my story off to your last known email address, but it didn't like it. Please send it to me at Lewis.Whelchel@gmail.com.

Red Mountain Spa called

Yes, they offered me a job!! Wooo hooooooo!! I have my orientation next Wednesday at 3:30pm (with Stephen, I believe) and will fill out all the proper paperwork at that time. Then they will try to put me in on the schedule to start my training. I also have to have first aid and cpr training. I don't know how this is going to work out just yet with WalMart but I will trust that it all will.

The middle of the night

It's about 3am, and a couple hours ago when I found myself headed towards another sleepless night, I took my blood sugar. It was a little low, I was a little hungry and without anything except a little chocolate, so I went out and found an obliging 24-hour Del Taco and indulged in a healthy burrito and a chocolate shake. I've just finished that and took a 2nd Sonata, so in about a half hour, I'll try sleeping again and see what happens. Wish me luck, though of course, I hope you're all asleep. :)

More Jokes...

There was this guy and he was in the car with his wife when he was pulled over by a police man. The police man says,"I need to give you a ticket for speeding." The man, named Harry, said,"but officer i was not even going 65 (mph)!" Then the mans wife says,"But Harry you were going well over 90 (mph)." Then he says,"Be quiet!" Then the officer says "I'm also going to have to give you a citation for a broken tail light." Then the man says outraged,"But officer I've don't have a broken tail light!!" Then his wife says,"But Harry you've been meaning to fix that broken tail light for weeks." Then Harry yells,"Be quiet!!!" Then the officer asks the wife,"Is you husband always this strange?" The wife answers,"Oh, yes only when he's drunk."

Utah Utilities

We really only have two utility bills here, electric and then the city of St George for sewer, trash and water. Last year at this time in California, our electric bill was $768 (really hot month, this was mostly for the ac which we only ran from about 2pm until sometime in the wee hours when I would get up and shut it off). Here, our first electric bill is $164 and that is for a full month of running not one but TWO air conditioning units full time round the clock PLUS an electric dryer. I knew it was going to be lower but thought the dryer might make it go up. NOPE. Huge savings!!

Our water bill used to run between $35 and 50 depending on how dry it was. Here my city of St George bill was a whopping $22.82. Now that was only a half month of water....so I am expecting next month it will be closer to $50-60 but that also includes our garbage which here costs $2.73 a month and in California was $25 a month.

I like Utah!!!!

Lewis Update

Well, it's another 1/2 sleepless night. I seem to wake up at 11:45pm and no matter what I do, I wake up very 1/2 hr to 45 min after that. Eventually I can't stand it any longer and throw in the towel and just get up. Of course, by the time I get to work, I can conceivably sleep for a little while, so the morning passes interminably slowly with lots of yawning. I don't know if it's a blood sugar thing or not. Living in bachelorhood, I find I eat less, and plainer things, and perhaps my meds are too high. I see my dr. tomorrow.

On the brighter side, I believe I've developed the beginning of a plot for my new book, so that is exciting to me. It kind of makes me want to skip work and write. (Oh...I NEVER do things like that, no, never!)
