Mike and I are having another baby! Due either September 2nd or September 9th depending on who wins the armwrestle - the ultrasound tech or the nurse. My guess is September 3, so I don't really care what either of them say. We don't know the gender, but because I'm old and "HIGH" risk, it sounds like I'm getting lots of ultrsounds and I'll probably get to know early. Mike thinks its either a boy or a girl. He's usually right about these things.
I'm very very sick, so you all need to come see me and clean my house, particularly the toilets (I hate throwing up in dirtly toilets). I'll feed you (as long as you cook and do the dishes) and I'll let you do your laundry and mine in the washer/dryer. It's the vacation you've been looking for! PLus, my visiting teacher would really appreciate you!
Love to everyone,
Martissa

Heryee heryeee I have a question. I would like to know if anyone here thinks it to be inappropriate to forward the link to our family Blog to my side of the family, specifically the Nuernberg's, Smith's, Knapps, and Benesh's. That would include my mom-aka Lynda, Grandma Pat(Nuernberg), Teri Benesh(Lynda's sister), Nancy Knapp(Lynda's other sister) and my dad(smith) and his wife. I understand that anyone in the world can look at our Family Blog but I wanted to get everyones approval before I send them the link. From what I understand, they wont even be able to put comments because they would have to have a login name and password, which none of them have. I know they would like to see how a Blog works and see what we are up to as a family.
So Please post comments and be completley honest.

Where's Brad?
I miss your jokes that make me laugh! I hope your absence is not a reflection of how much homework you have. :)

Paisley's Big Adventure with Mialee
This is Paisley all ready to go on her big adventure in Ventura with Cousin Mialee.
After we picked up Mialee from Nathan's doctor appointment we all went to the mall. This is Leslee and Mialee after they had tried on a lot of different kinds of perfumes and now they were ready for a make over at the make-up counter.
After Mialee was all dolled up it was time to try on shoes. Mialee loves fancy shoes that sparkle and have really high heels.
Then we all took a ride in the elevator. This was Paisley's first time in the elevator and she loved it! It was very fun to go to Ventura and play with Mialee!

Request :)
Post more pictures of Paisley. I looked at the Cornwall blog and saw a cute picture of her. We want them too. How did she do with her shots? Mialee was always a trooper, but little Nathan didn't handle his too well. Nathan was 12 lbs 14 oz at his February appt. He goes back the beginning of March for more shots and another weigh in.... my chunky baby. :):) I love the rolls; they make him extra cuddily!
Smith Home
Mialee informed me this morning that she loves Nathan and wants to keep him. They are getting along well these days. She loves to lay down by him and make him smile. When she decides she is done and walks away, he cries. Yesterday while Mialee and I were in the kitchen and Nathan was on the couch, he started fussing and Mialee said to me, "go give him his na-na(binkey) please." Too funny.
Nathan has been fitted for hearing aids. Monday the 27th he meets with an Ears Nose and Throat specialist who will clear him for hearing aids. Then when the hearing aids are done, we go pick them up. I met with CCS today and unfortunately for the next year we will have to drive to Ventura for all appointments with the audiologist. SLO hopes to be set up to handle hard of hearing babies by 2007. The audiologist said we can do most of our appointments by mail. That will be nice. Hopefully in March we will have some hearing aids on this kid.

Thanks!
...to leslee, stefi, and paisley for coming to ventura and watching mialee while nathan had his audiologist appointment. i didnt get to see them regretable, but mialee enjoyed her time. paisley is as cute as her pictures, and, leslee and stefi are too, for that matter. :)
nathan was fitted today for hearing aids. tomorrow i will set up an appointment for him to see the ENT. then he will be ready to get the hearing aids. ayeaye, the process, but finally it seems to be working out.
it only took us 3 hours to get home from ventura with crying/hungry children and mialee only wet her pants twice! :):):)

Great Book
I am reading an excellent book call 'If Life Were Easy it Wouldnt be Hard' by Sherri Dew. Since 2004 I set a goal each year to read 3 books besides the Book of Mormon. This year I am reading this one by Sherri Dew, one by Chieko called 'Being Enough', and one by I dont know who called 'The 12 Purposes of Life'. Keeps me feeling like my brain isn't turning to mush.

Question for Tracy...
I am trying to figure out the details for James' endowment day. Will Lauren and Caitlin be watching kids at your house or at the temple?

Where are the rest of the family?
Do the rest of you live such busy lives that you can't stop in now and again for a quick comment? We miss you. This is the next best thing to being there. Or is that hallmark? hehe.
Anyway, I wish all of the family were participating in our little internet world.

Such an adventure
We are having so much fun learning about Taiwan. We are looking for a big picture (travel perhaps) book on Taiwan. We found a little paperbook kind, like an Auto club tourbook. We want the big colorful kind but Barnes and Noble doesn't have anything like it. If you find something can you tell us where so we can try a local place to get it.
We have learned that James will be able to email his father and I once weekly. We will cut and post his emails here so you can all share in them. We have told him that if anyone except us writes to him, he MUST return their letters. So, feel free to write him and know that you will hear back.
Making a to do list from his misson call booklet and a "shopping list". Sheesh, I forgot about half of this stuff. Lewis and I aren't exactly in the know on going "foreign" either.
He will be arriving in Taiwan during monsoon season. Hehe. He will also arrive just in time to help celebrate the Church's 50th anniversary there. I wonder if they will send some General Authority's to help with the celebration.
We are just enjoying the journey. Hope you don't mind me sharing all of it. Let me know if you get bored with it all.

Proof!
We have dates....
Ok, James will be going through the Temple on Saturday, March 25th. We need to know who is coming so we can make a reservation. We are planning on going to the Redlands Temple. Its small and requires you have your own temple clothes. If this is a problem for anyone let us know. Leslee thought that Los Angeles won't be open yet.
His farewell will be on Easter Sunday, April 16th. Our block of meetings is from 9am til noon. We invite all of you over after the block of meetings for a luncheon.
Again, we need a head count so we can make enough food.
I hope you can join us in this joyous occasion.

The New Look of the Office
This weekend with the help of Layne, Mom and Dad's office has received a facelift. It looks a whole lot neater and there is a ton of space since the beast of a computer desk has been removed. Now you don't have to fight over which computer gets to move their mouse. Also notice the wireless router in the middle of the computers, that's right, we've gone wireless. Now Mom and Dad's computer can be online at the same time! Lots of cool things going on up in Palmdale.

Farewell and Temple
We should know tomorrow when James's farewell will be. They need to check a calendar. James reports on April 19th, the 16th is Easter, the Sunday before that Lauren, James and I will be in Pennsylvania and the Sunday before that is General Conference. So, he might be doing his report on Easter....or in the end of March. It is also our Stake's policy to not allow the missionaries to go to through the Temple until about 2 weeks before they report. James has told the Stake president about our trip and it looks like he might let James go through towards the end of March so that it will be done before we go to Pennsylvania. We will give you dates as soon as we know when they are . We welcome any of you who want to come to join us for these special occasions.
Thanks so much for your prayers and good wishes.

WINNERS FOR CANDY ARE?
Noone from the family. LOL.
Yep, we had one winner for destination...my boss, Scott. He guessed Japan and definately was the closest.
We had one winner for when his call would arrive Delight (my R.S pres, I am first counselor), she guessed the exact date.
We had a tie for the date that he reports with Jody ( our R.S. Secretary ) and Patrice ( my running buddy) guessing the exact date.
So, I am sorry that noone in the family won, but it was sure fun to participate and hear all the guesses.
Did you know there is a Temple in Taipie? Yep.

TAIWAN TAIPEI
YES, it finallly arrived. He is going to Taiwan, Taipei and reports on April 19th. More info to come. Just wanted to let you all know....and no, I don't know who won the candy yet.
The Puzzle is FINALLY Done!
We (Mom, Jason and I) have been working on this puzzle (not very consistently) for the past couple weeks and we have finally finished it! This will make leslee jump for joy because she has been drooling over it this whole time and wished we had hurried up. Our next adventure is going to be a Thomas Kinkaid puzzle (if I can find it) so stay tuned for the final results of that.
Sweet Mialee part 2
Mialee's new thing: When she is doing something she thinks I should be watching; dancing, painting, playing the piano...., she says to me, 'Mama, put your head up, smile, and watch me.' The things kids come up with. She definitely keeps us laughing.
Sweet Mialee
This morning as my darling angel was smothering her brother, I kindly asked her to back away a little and she announced to me....'But I so love him. He is beautiful.' Nathan is thankful his sister has decided it is okay for him to live with us and that she likes him. She doesn't tell him to go home any more and he rarely gets hit in the head. We all are enjoying that.

The Phones Have Arrived!
Well the new cell phones have arrived here at the Cornwall household. We have our new phone numbers but I'm too lazy to look them up right now, plus since the world can check the post, I don't want the world to call me. When they are all charged up and we use them we'll let you know how we like them. My phone is supposed to be able to make movies! Cool huh!??!
Here is some new family news!
We got a phone call last night from Layne telling us he is coming to see us today. Wow! He is full of surprises. Anyway, he has a little vacation time he can use and he decided he could use a break so he is coming to visit. Lucky Stefanie and Jason are staying in Palmdale so he will have someone to play with.
Today, tomorrow, and Friday are Zone conferences here at the mission. The missionaries really look forward to them - it is a "shot in the arm" to them, like General Conference is to us. AND, they get a really yummy lunch.
Lots of love to all of you from us. xoxoxoxo

Sick kids
I thought I was past the days of having to stay home to attend sick children. But not so. It seems we have two home today (Caitlin and Jonny). They are both running fevers and not happy. At the moment they are in bed, but they both still want "MOM". Nice to still be needed though.
No mission call as of yet. We have all given up and will be very surprised when it comes. BTW, can we get a head count of who wants to or is interested in coming to the Temple with us when James takes out his endowments? Our stake president doesn't let them go until 2 weeks before they are supposed to report to the MTC. Jan, is this church wide or is it just his "policy". This is new. I got my call in late February, took out my endowments on Mar 4th, and didn't report until June 30th.
Hope you all are having a great day!

GOOD NEWS!
Things are moving right along with Nathan. He was approved for Medi-Cal last week. CCS moved quickly and got him an appointment with a new audiologist in Ventura on February 21. After that visit, the treatment plan will go according to what that doctor says. We are interested to see if he tests the same because to us he seems more responsive the older he gets.
Our pediatrician doesn't accept Medi-Cal, so the kids meet their new doctor on Friday; just to establish him as Mialee's doctor and to get him up to speed with Nathan. Hopefully he will be as wonderful as our previous one.
In the meantime, Nathan's friends continue to come twice a month and 'work' (play) with him. Right now it is mostly observation to make sure he continues to grow and develop according to 'schedule'. If a problem develops, that's when they will take some action.
I am off to work. Hope everyone has a good day.

Smith Household
Yesterday Mialee enjoyed a fun Primary activity. The goal was to have each child paint 2 Valentines and wrap them in toole with candy and give them to their parents. Well, I got a lovely painted heart but have yet to see the bag of candy. :)
Mialee finally pooed in the toilet today, with the aid of her determined father. Derrick holds a diaper around her while she is sitting on the toilet, then when the poo begins to fall, he pulls the diaper away... ahh, the things we do. We thought she would be thrilled with herself, but she was a little upset she didn't get the poo in the diaper.
Nathan was finally approved for Medi-Cal. Hopefully this week CCS will give their approval and we can start with doctor appts.
Thanks to Dad for doing our taxes. One nice thing about owning nothing and being destitute is that taxes take about 8 mintues to do.... well, I guess I shouldn't talk since I didn't do them this year. Did it take longer than that, Dad? :)
Where is Martissa? I backed her up last week, suggesting she has been too busy to join us....but HELLO, we miss her. Where or where is our little Marti? Oh where or where could she be? Is she busy with kids, the piano and such? Oh where or where could she be?

I have gotten 6 calls
since I got home from work from ward members asking if James has his call yet! The consensus is that its going to be today. Supposedly, someone asked around and everyone in these parts has gotten their calls on a Friday. Hmmm don't know about that scientific study...but I sure wish it would just show up. Will let you know....
btw...the bad news is...we usually don't get our mail until 4 or close to 5pm. YUCK.

Did you know....
...that pulls up worn inside out do not absorb anything? Mialee continues to refuse to pooh in the toilet. When she needs to go, she takes off her underwear and puts on a pull up. Her independance is quite nice, except when it is not. Yesterday, the pull up was put on inside out and she proceded with her bowel movement....ayeaye, all over the carpet. :) Don't worry mom and dad, carpet cleaner did the trick!

Oh the suspense....will Leslee be right?
No mission call yet, will it come tomorrow? Only the postman knows.
Family Opinion Post
OK Jason and I are planning to switch to Cingular and this will be a 2 year contract so we want to make sure we are doing a good thing so everyone with cingular please cast your vote. Yea or Nay? Every opinion counts!
Stefanie....
Stef, what do you do during the day? Give me a run down of a day in the life of stefi cornwall.
Jokes from the C.L.A.M. (California Los Angeles Mission
A man named Buddy had a parrot which he loved dearly. One day it keeled over and died. Buddy rushed it to the vet and the vet said, "Buddy, your parrot is dead". Buddy asked for a second opinion so the vet brought in a Labrador Retriever who pawed at the bird, and it didn't move. "Buddy, your bird is dead", said the vet. Buddy requested a third opinion so the vet brought in a cat who scratched the parrot. The parrot didn't move. "Your parrot is dead", said the vet. Buddy reconciled himself to the fact that the bird had died and asked the vet how much the bill was. "$500.00, said the vet". Buddy was outraged and asked for an itemized bill. It was like this: $200 for the lab report; $200 for the catscan, and $100 for the diagnosis that the bird was dead. (Everyone should be laughing really hard now.)
Next joke: Did you hear about the Chichuahua who killed a Rotweiler? It got stuck in the Rotweiler's throat.
We had breakfast together this morning as an office staff to say goodbye to one of our A.P.'s who is leaving in the morning. President Raymond is an unending source of jokes and he gets credit (or blame) for both of these. Hope all of you are having a great day. Since we missed the candy for the day James gets his mission call, dad and I are banking on the where and when part of the "lottery". We love you all!! :)
