Beautiful Ballerina

These pictures are of Paisley right before her first dance class. She loved dance very much and asks everyday if it is time to go to dance. We are so happy she is able to have such a fun activity. Also, this is my second bag I finished yesterday! I'm sure having a blast!

After much talking with parents, fasting and praying, we have decided to get married in January. The 30th to be exact. I wanted all of you to know! Yes I wont be going on a mission anymore, but I know this is the right thing to do. =) I love you all. I'll keep you posted on everything and you'll get invitations as well sometime. Love ya!

Seat Adjustments

/Volumes/My Data/Macbook/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Modified/2009/Roll 1/Land_Rover_RR_HR_manu-06_int-03.jpg

The Other Reason

So, I can imagine you all smirking thinking "hmm, any news?!?!?!"

Well, there is some news!  You can find a car with seats that will be comfortable for pretty much anyone!

Although Civic seats fit my back quite well they don't fit my husband's very well at all.  Did you know that in 2002 Honda Civics had 4 way seat adjustments?  This isn't my Civic but you can see the lack of seat adjustments.
Did you know that you can buy cars with up to 21 way seat adjustments?

We were not quite lucky enough to get 21 way seat adjustments but we did get 16 way adjustments.  That way EVERYONE in the family can be comfortable driving (or being driven) in the new SUV.  If you look closely at the bottom of the picture you will see all the fancy buttons.

But I can't deny that there is more room in the back seat, in case that is ever needed. :)

Range Rover Pictures

Here is a picture of the interior our of new 2006 Land Rover Range Rover. It has been a lot of fun over the past couple of week. We made our own road down a small mountain the first day we bought it and although we measured to make sure it would fit through all of the tree's we didn't think to look at the drop off between the bottom of the hill and the 5 foot, very steep drop off, before you get to the road. We went at a very steep angle and managed to not get stuck.

Look for further pictures shortly, like really shortly. ;)

Kansas Activities

Last Friday we were in charge of a ward social. It was a Back to School Chili Cook Off. This was our center pieces on the tables. Super cute I think! Then Saturday we went to the Kansas State Fair! These next couple of pictures are of the fair.
Jarom was very happy to be at the fair and see all the fun things there. Paisley loved all the animals and the cotton candy.

Yesterday Jarom had a good nap in the swing. He is so cute when he sleeps.
This picture was not staged at all. Jarom loves story time at bedtime. He is really interested in the books.
Tonight everyone was climbing on daddy. It was lots of fun so we had to take a picture. Plus Jarom looked very cute in his overalls!

Trips and toys

Hi Family!

As many of you know my husband and I have had the travel bug since we got married. Now that we have someone to travel with we take every opportunity. We have gone on so many trips I have a hard time keeping track of them. But it is sure a lot of fun!

Our most recent trip was to Tygart Lake State Park in West Virginia. It is about 4 hours away in an area that we have visited 3 or 4 times now. It is Beautiful!!! We wanted to go camping for the Labor Day long weekend but since it was last minute all of the campsites were already taken. So instead we stayed in the Lodge. We had a patio that overlooked the lake and it was just fantastic. We didn't go out on the lake but we hiked and drove around. It was so much fun.
Oh also we bought a new car. The Corvette and Civic are just not made for camping. So in preparation for the "camping trip" we bought an SUV. We traded in the Civic and bought a . . . I should let my husband tell you about our new toy.

Don't worry having a bigger vehicle to haul camping equipment was not the only (or most important reason) for buying an SUV.

Love,

Jen!

Political Stuff

Hi,

Sorry I have not blogged in forever. But I got an email from my little brother that I feel inclined to send out to the world.

Nathaniel works for GE in the Jet Engine Design section. Here is what he wrote:

I'm emailing because I'd like you to check out a website and contact your congressman if you want. It directly impacts my job and our freedom and pretty much the fate of the entire world ... just kidding.
Obama wants to end funding the competitive engine for the joint strike fighter. This happens to be the engine I've been helping to design with GE for the past two and a half years. If you want, you can go to www.f136.com and from there send a message to your congressman telling them not to take it out of the budget.
Even if it didn't mean possibly losing my job, I wouldn't want this program cancelled for two main reasons: 1) it would put GE out of the large military jet business, giving Pratt and Whitney a monopoly on all large military jets from here on out. 2) Because by 2025 the JSF will be the only fighter jet for the US and at least 13 of our allies, if the GE engine was cancelled, and a problem were to be found with the only available engine, then all the US' and our allies' fighter jets would be grounded and we would be sitting ducks for our enemies.
There's my plug, more details are available on the website. Do what you wanna do, and if you feel so inclined, spread the word like grape jelly on bread ... mmm yummy ...

So that is the story. Please at least look at it and decide what you think is best and let your congressman know.

Love,

Jen!

ONE

As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
We became one color.
As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building,
We became one class.
As we lit candles of waiting and hope,
We became one generation.
As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno,
We became one gender.
As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength,
We became one faith.
As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement,
We spoke one language.
As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,
We became one body.
As we mourned together the great loss,
We became one family.
As we cried tears of grief and loss,
We became one soul.
As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes,
We become one people.

We are ...
One color
One class
One generation
One gender
One faith
One language
One body
One family
One soul
One people

We are The Power of One.
We are United.
We are America.

What's New?

Here is Paisley in her new tap shoes. Today she signed up for a ballet and tap dance class. She is very excited! She's been playing dance class with Daddy and Jarom since we got home from registering. She will have a blast especially since her best friends are in her class with her. Dance starts September 22!

Jarom is a big boy wearing 3 month old clothes now!! We weren't prepared to start putting his clothes away in tubs to be stored for later use. He is sure snugly in his towel jammies (that's what we call them, I don't know their official name) He is also a very smiley boy. He now knows what the camera is and starts to smile when he notices it being pointed at him! These two cute kids are growing up fast!

Day of Labor

Today we got to work so we could truly celebrate Labor Day! Jason and I have a few things on our list to accomplish today:

Weed the front yard
Lay mulch
Trim front Bushes
Weed in between the bushes
Wash van
Finish shopping for the ward party on Friday
Write enrichment lesson (yet to be completed)

We had a very busy, but productive day. We are trying to get our front yard looking beautiful for the fall and because we are sick of living in harmony with the weeds. Paisley was a great helper, and Jarom was a happy supporter! We had a great day laboring as a family! Today we are also reminded of a great labor that was going on 12 weeks ago when sweet Jarom came into our family. We love him! Happy Labor Day to all!
