...I have had nearly a non-stop headache since Friday night. It was so bad on Saturday I went back to bed late in the morning and stayed there all day. It lightened up on Sunday morning, but was back with me on Sunday night and all day Monday. It was very bad on the ride to CA on Monday night. I took a cocktail of ibuprofen, tylenol and alleve all at the same time on a couple occasions without the slightest relief. I got to work this morning and couldn't deal with it, so I called Pevsner and went to see him. Fortunately they were able to get me right in. He ruled out stroke and migraines and isn't sure what to say. He put me on Fioricet, a barbituate/tylenol/caffiene cocktail designed for muscle tension headaches. I'm at Mark's sitting by my bed. I believe the one I took already is working. My head feels much better and I have that bug-eyed tingling feeling I get off my psych meds. His goal was to stop the cycle of pain. If I'm not cured by tomorrow, he's sending me for an MRI. I can take another pill in one hour, then every six after that. I told my boss I didn't know if I'd be in tomorrow or not. If I have to do the MRI, I'm going to have it done in St.G. I don't want to get stuck or laid up in CA.
It snowed for awhile yesterday in St. G. Everybody was excited about it except me. It didn't snow enough to close the freeway. :) Some of the enthusiasm died when we learned it was just 6* in Cedar City. Thank you, but no! :)

Movie Morning
This morning I made a little fort in our basement and Paisley and I (both in our pj's) watched a movie and ate popcorn. Paisley was so excited when she came downstairs and saw the fort, and was even more excited to have popcorn downstairs! I had to use our drying rack to make it tall enough for me to sit under it with her and to make it spacious enough. It is funny because I didn't bother to take the drying clothes off of it, but now that it is on the blog for the world to see, I wish I would have remembered that fact. Oh well, that just makes even more true to our normal life and not posed!

Stake Conference
Dear Family,
Today we had a wonderful satellite stake conference. President Hinckley was one of the speakers. Because we are all so happy and excited for Layne and Jen, I decided to post a few of President Hinckley's comments regarding marriage. He said that first of all we need to put the past behind us in the spirit of repentance. We should sublimate our self interest to the welfare of our spouse. He then gave 4 cornerstones on which to nurture our homes.
1. Mutual respect: We are each different and individual. Respect those differences. Let them be the "spice" in our relationship. Look for virtues, not faults.
2. Soft answer: Quiet talk is the language of love, of peace, of God. Speak kindly and softly to one another.
3. Financial honesty: pay an honest tithing. Don't make "big" purchases without discussing it with your spouse. (we won't tell him that dad bought our first house without my seeing it or even knowing what he was doing.)
4. Family Prayer: The family that prays together does stay together. Husband and Wives should have couple prayer.
Another speaker mentioned that daily words of appreciation, praise, and acceptance go a long way in creating love and happiness between spouses. Let's each try to use at least one word each day to our spouse that indicates we appreciate, or admire, or accept him/her.
Anyway, we really enjoyed the conference. We hope that each of you had a nice Sunday. We love each of you and treasure you more than words can say. Mom :)

A new Elder in the family is coming
Daniel and I and Lewis met with our Bishop tonight and had a wonderful discussion about alot of things. As a result, he informed us afterwards that Daniel will be getting ordained sometime during the month of February to the office of an Elder. We wanted to give you some notice and will of course give you an exact date when we have it. We welcome any of you who want to come share this incredible sacred occasion.

Our Trip to Missouri
Last Saturday we all took a day trip to Independence Missouri. One of my college roommates was in Missouri visiting her sister for Christmas and we decided to meet up to spend the day together. Independence happened to be a middle point for us. We spent the day going to historical sights and church history sights. We had a blast!
These first two pictures were taken at the Independence visitors center. Paisley had a fun time in their play area. She played house in the log cabin, rode the covered wagon and played checkers.
This was at liberty jail in Liberty Missouri. It was an incredible presentation. We also visited the Harry Truman Presidential Library, but we didn't take any pictures. That was very interesting also. He sure had a lot to deal with during his presidency!
This is me and Laura! It was fun to see her again. She is from Boston. We were roommates at Ricks and transfered down to BYU at the same time. We have been good friends ever since then. It is funny that she just moved to California as we moved out of California. I miss her lots, but it has been fun to see her. Lately every time we have seen her it has been on vacation. Our little outing was FREEZING cold but we had a good time!

Shocking News Story
I was just scrolling the headlines on yahoo news and an article about airlines on-time records caught my eye. I thought it was very funny since lewis used to always talk about his problems with Southwest. According to this news story Southwest is the 3rd most punctual airline in the U.S. Shocking! Well since Lewis had such bad luck with Southwest and they are the third most punctual I can only image how bad all the other airlines are!!!

Happy New Year
Dad and I would like to be among the first to wish all of you a very happy and prosperous new year. We had a great year of travel and adventure in 2007 but dad says we are staying put more this year and he is determined to have you all doing family history work in whatever temple you are nearest. I hope he is very successful in keeping us busy that way.
Please know that we love each of you - children, children-in-law, grandchildren - very much and we are so very grateful for each of you. We look forward to being with each of you from time to time during 2008. Let's use the birthday calendar to let each other know they are loved and thought of. Let's love and encourage each other every chance we get.
Much love to all of you!! Dad and Mom
