Update on our family

Lauren has moved back home. Wal-Mart wanted her but the regional guy here is NOT approving any transfers so she is looking for a job. They are very hard to come by. She did apply at Chuck E Cheese as they are hiring. She thinks that would be a fun job. She has applied to Victor Valley College and is registering for classes today. Caitlin, Lauren and I are running a half marathon tomorrow up at Crestline (Lake Gregory). I work about 2 hours after, so lets hope it goes well. Weather is supposed to be perfect.

James has a girlfriend (don't know if he would call her that yet) but they spend what ever time they have available together. Her name is Brittany and she is a senior at Weber State in Communications. She intends to be a marriage and family counselor. She will be heading north to school in a week or two. Poor James. Her family had him over for dinner last night to "officially" meet him. Tonight the two of them go out again. We haven't met her, just seen pictures and heard lots of wonderful descriptions of their time together. We have approved her, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for the two of them. LOL.

Daniel is still working at Appleby's, still contemplating going to VVC as well. Not sure what will happen with him yet.

Caitlin and Jon are back in school, today is the last day of their first week. Monday seminary starts. I have been taking them in the mornings but they take the bus home in the afternoon. We hope to carpool with someone for seminary. I would like to do the early morning run and then let someone else grab them from seminary and take them up to the school. We shall see. They both seem to like it alright. Jon has met a girl from germany (Jon loves all things german, we don't know why). She is an exchange student, her name is Vanessa. She is in his german 2 class and also in one of Caitlin's classes. They both like her.

Lewis should be getting the official letter offer from Nutro any day now, so they claim. Then we get to find out how much of a pay cut he gets. We are set on staying here and making it work. We will try to get our present landlady to reduce the rent come renewal time or we will move to a cheaper place. Rents here have dropped dramatically and we are on the high end now. I am doing my homework and will show her documentation of what rents are presently (in February) and give her the option of reducing the rent and having us stay or us leaving and her having to find someone else and fix the house up again. Not sure what her financial situation is but she is going to be hard pressed to find someone to pay rent for what someone could pay in a mortgage.

I'm busy working at Wal-Mart and getting ready for the race in November. I have a full marathon coming up in Park City on August 23rd. We will be headed up there on Thursday, stopping in Overton, Nv to take care of some race business, then stopping in St George that night. Hoping to spend some time on Friday with James and perhaps meeting Brittany before she heads north then heading up to Park City on that evening to bunk down before the big race on Saturday. Plans are to take a good ice bath after the race and then get in the car and drive all the way home.

That is it for us, what is happening with the rest of you?

Thanks for the update. We enjoy knowing what is going on. We hope that Lauren can find work soon. We are happy that she will be going to school this fall - she is so close to an associate degree, it would be sad to drop it. We are happy that Caitlin and Jonny are liking school and making friends. Did Lewis sign his contract with Mars? We love you all!

They presented him essentially with a letter that rescinds their last letter which told him he was out of a job on Dec 26th. However, it has NO information about money or anything else for that matter.
