Economy
How is the economy effecting all of you? Have any of you changed plans as a result of gas prices? Are any of you feeling the pinch at the pump or the cash register with groceries? David van pools but still lives quite a ways from work, has that hurt the Haralsons? How far does Jason work from home? What about you Virginia people, are you both close to your jobs? I have a good friend in Iowa and she said milk there is 4.39 a gallon. Well here its only 3.59 and if you do the buy two and save I can get it for closer to 3.00 a gallon. What is milk costing you where you live? What is the biggest increase you have seen? Is it in gas, a specific food or some other commodity?

Our milk is super expensive also. Whole milk is $4.30 so she is now drinking 2% which is at $3.98 along with fat free.
Jason only lives 5 minutes from work so that is really nice. Although I want to buy a moped so he will use even less gas and then I can have the car in case I need to go somewhere.
Gas went down this week to $3.75 Our church is 45 minutes away so that is our gas guzzler plus jason is in young men's so he has to go to mutual. Luckily he usually carpools for that. But this week there was also a stake youth activity so he had to go to wichita.
Yes, I was thinking about Annette in Iowa and you, wondering how church works out. I remember well living in Pennsylvania and having to drive long distances to stake things and before the church grew alot just to attend sacrament. Annette says they are having more and more people not attending just due to the price of gas. Wow!
I just paid $3.19 for a gallon of skim milk and our Denver gas is $3.98 with some places just over $4.00. I can't believe how much more we are spending on basic groceries and gas. We just keep sucking it up. I don't know how much longer we can do it, but for now it seem ok.
Mike works from home a lot. He says he is going into the office more just for peace and quiet. We'll see if the gas gets him. He is only about 13 miles from work about a 15 minute commute.
