Proud Mother Moment

Nathan has taken off with his sign language. He is up to 20 signs and even combines some to make 2 word sentences. Little toddler hands signing his needs is so precious to see! His speech is starting to come around slowly. His last hearing test showed he is not yet hearing within normal limits, he can hear vowels, and he can hear parts of consonants. He forms his mouth into the correct shape for a word, but consonant sounds. He does use the 'd' and 'g' sounds frequently. GO is his most common spoken word.

Wow that is huge!! He is already making sentences too. I know some signs but not enough to say anything in a sentence....ok I lied I know how to sign "I love you". That is a sentence. But that is the only one. Who teaches him that? What else is happening in his life? Is Mialee still in gymboree or preschool? Tell us what your kidlets are up to? Puhleeze.

I teach him sign. I learn it off the internet, so I can sign what he does all day long. I wouldn't be able to sign with an adult with a larger vocabulary, yet. Mialee and Derrick sign a little too. Nathan starts Nursery next week. He has been going for two weeks with good success. Mialee stopped Gymnastics for the summer so she can do Swim Lessons in June. She finishes up pre-school this month and is off until the Fall. Her Bday is in 2 weeks and she is getting a bike. She is learning to write and when I read to her she likes to read the words she knows. Makes reading a book take a very long time, but she gets so proud of herself. Thanks for your update email!
