... Goes to the audiologist tomorrow. Hopefully this visit will be productive. Supposedly she should be able to test his hearing with his aids and let us have a better idea of what he does and does not hear.
His friend, the Occupational Therapist, came today and said he is showing signs of improved strength....of course, that is what happens when you get older. I am not sure why she thinks he should be running a marathon right now, but.... Nothing is really the matter, she just thinks he should be sitting up by himself and he can't without support.
His genetic test came back negative, which means he does not have the common gene that causes hearing loss. Doctors don't like when there is not a reason for something, so they want us to persue further testing to find a reason for his hearing. We will talk to his pediatrician on Friday about that.
I am teaching myself sign language and sign to Nathan everyday. I know about 8 sentences and close to 200 words. It is pretty fun even if he ends up not needing it. Mialee is picking it up also. Her favorite word to sign is frog.

caThat's fun that your doing the sign language. I made up some of my own signs for Paisley for when I go to wash my hands after I change her diaper so she knows I'll be right back. That will be very useful later on, especially if he learns to say he is hungry or thirsty and wants more of something, that will cut out alot of frustration. So when are you coming to visit? Paisley really wants to play with Nathan and Mialee again.
Congrats to you Rebecca for being so proactive. I told you that my kids said they will learn sign if it would help them to communicate with Nathan, we will see if we can pick up a book on it and start learning. You seem to be picking it up rather quickly.
BTW, what exactly is wrong with Nathan running a marathon? even at the ripe age of going on one? hehe
